Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively (CARE®)
This award winning workshop has already trained more than 130,000 servers. Whether your alcohol servers work in a restaurant, bar, hotel, club, or casino, CARE® prepares them to handle the challenges of balancing guest service with the legal responsibilities involved in serving alcohol.
Participants learn how to effectively monitor and control guests' alcohol consumption, tactfully intervene before problems arise, carry out ID-checking policies, and handle minors according to your property's policies. Successful completion of this program may also reduce liability risks and help lower insurance rates.
Successful completion of CARE® will lead to an Educational Institute issued Training Verification Card.
The paper-based CARE® program, is not available for
individual purchase nor is it available through EI’s online store.
Individuals may purchase CARE® Online through EI’s online store. Those interested in purchasing for a group or
organization should call 800-344-4381 or 517-372-8800.
CARE® Testimonial
"The CARE certification has become vital to the success of our Food and Beverage, Valet, and Security team members within the Atlantic City region of Caesars Entertainment. Being the area's leading destination for dining, entertainment, casino gaming, and hospitality has given us a responsibility to our guests and our team members to be able to control the risks that alcohol can present. We take this responsibility very seriously and have chosen to work exclusively with the American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute to ensure our team members receive the best possible training. Recently, we have begun to shift from classroom-based learning to the web-based CARE course. The web-based option has proven to be a convenient, effective, easy to use training module and we are looking forward to offering it to all of our required team members in the coming year."
