George Glazer, CMHS, senior vice president, is a 27-year veteran of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI). From EI's academic headquarters in Lansing, Michigan, Glazer and his staff work closely with academic and industry professionals, to assess educational needs and guide the development of industry-driven, competency-based hospitality programs for both academic and industry markets. Glazer has worked steadfastly with many associations and groups to help ensure that the training and educational needs of the hospitality industry are met. He is widely known for collaborating with association executives, industry officials and academic experts to build professional development resources.Prior to coming to the Educational Institute, Glazer worked in a number of managerial positions in both lodging and food service. He taught at both Michigan State University and Oakland University, and also worked for two years in the Michigan elementary school system.Glazer is a member of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (CHRIE) and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART). He holds a B.A. from Michigan State University in English and Education as well as an M.A. in English from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
