Educational Institute Honors Terry Hunter with Anthony Marshall Award

Orlando, Florida, June 2013— Terry Hunter, resort management professor at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs, is the 2013 recipient of the Anthony Marshall Award, presented by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI). This award recognizes an individual who has made significant long-term contributions to the hospitality industry in educating future leaders. Hunter was honored during the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Summer Summit in Denver, during the AH&LA Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, June 19.

Hunter believes passionately in the success of his students and his program, and works closely with EI and other industry organizations to provide the best learning environment possible. Because many of his students work outside the area, he has developed distance learning options to enable them to continue their studies. In addition to his resort management and hotel operations programs, Hunter has also developed a spa management emphasis at the college, using EI and ISPA’s spa textbooks. He is also developing a new workforce outreach program this fall that will use EI’s Skills Tasks And Results Training (START) curriculum.
