As a Registered Academic Instructor for AHLEI courses and exams, you can provide your students with the opportunity to earn a credential that demonstrates their hard-earned expertise and knowledge.

Once you are an approved instructor, you will be able to:

  • Access instructor resources for textbooks and courses to help with success in the classroom.
  • Set up and schedule online exam sessions.
  • Register students into online exam sessions you proctor.
  • Access online exam results for students in your session(s).

To become an AHLEI Registered Academic Instructor:

  • Click here to login to AHLEI.org or create a profile
  • Once you’re logged in, click the appropriate link below to register as a proctor for your course.  (Please note the link will open in a new browser tab)
  • On the Learning & Exams page, under My Exam Activity click on “Applications” tab
  • On the Application tab, click “Launch” to start your brief proctor application
  • Once your application is submitted, you will receive confirmation within 3-4 business days and will then be able to access resources and administer exams.

To register, select the program below that is most appropriate for the courses that you teach. Please note you should be logged in or create an account when you register.  Also, you will need to request instructor status for multiple programs depending on the courses you are teaching.

Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE)

 
Apply to access instructor resources and to be an approved proctor for the Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) Online Exam.

Once your application is approved, here’s how to manage your exam sessions:

Set-up a session:
  • Login and on the My Account page, click the Proctor Dashboard under Learning Management.
  • On the Proctor Dashboard page, click the New Session button in the right corner.
  • Follow steps to set exam session information.
  • Under Exam Details, copy the User Invitation Link and send to examinee(s) to enroll in the session. Please note:
    • Examinee(s) must have an approved application in order to be enrolled in an exam session.
    • Examinee(s) will need to click the session invitation link to enroll in the session
    • Examinees(s) will not see the exam until the proctor starts the session.

Start a session:
  • On the Proctor Dashboard, click on manage to go to the Control Panel and then start the session.
End a session:
  • On the Proctor Dashboard, click on manage, to go to the Control Panel tab then end the session and publish scores.
